Launched in 1995, Opus X marked a turning point in the history of Dominican cigars.
Arturo Fuente achieved the remarkable feat of producing a 100% Dominican wrapper, grown at the legendary Château de la Fuente, creating a line that has since become iconic for its bold, unapologetic character.
From the first light, a pleasantly sweet warmth settles in, quickly joined by perfectly controlled toasted notes.
The profile is spicy, dominated by cedar, with a subtle touch of bitterness in the first third that adds depth without upsetting the balance.
As the cigar develops, the toasted notes persist and are enriched by roasted hazelnut.
Sweet notes then soften the intensity, bringing harmony and a well-controlled roundness.
The finish moves toward burnt coffee — intense, assertive, and lingering.
The evolution remains deliberately restrained: toasted, roasted, and deep from start to finish, with remarkable consistency.
In terms of construction, nothing to fault:
🔥 compact ash, breaking only twice throughout the entire smoke, and an impeccable draw.
A cigar you almost wish you could smoke with a microphone, as the crackling of the burning tobacco is simply irresistible.
